Dear Captains
Thank you for supporting the Somerset Golf Captains “Captain’s Day’ at Oake Manor Golf Club on Tuesday, the 22nd of June. We currently have 76 players in 38 teams with the first tee at 11 o’clock and the last tee at 13.24 p.m.
The package for the day includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival; 18 holes of golf; a two course meal, prizes and a donation to the club.
The meal will be a be a carvery with two meats available: – Roast Beef and Turkey. This will be followed by a selection from the sweet trolley, and tea or coffee.
Please let me know if you or your guest have any special dietary requirements.
It would be safer to avoid handling cash on the day. If you have not already done so, please transfer £70 by BACS to “Somerset Golf Captains” Sort Code 30-91-84 – Account Number 00684170. In the “Reference” box, please quote “INVITATION” followed by your surname (e.g. “INVITATION-Jones” so that we can track payments.
The start sheet is now attached to confirm the tee time allocated to you and your guest. The start sheet will also be posted on the website. Please let me know if anything changes.

The format for the competition will be 4BBB off the yellow tees with 85% mandatory handicap allowance. Ladies handicaps will be adjusted in accordance with guidance from England Golf on mixed-tee competitions.
Now to COVID! As you know, the current plan is to lift all restrictions on Monday 21st June; and so we are planning on that basis – unless or until we are told otherwise! We will contact you again prior to the event if COVID restrictions are extended or imposed beyond Monday 21st June.
Assuming that showers and changing rooms are open, the Captain of Captains has asked members to wear “Jacket & Tie”; i.e. club blazers with men also wearing Somerset Golf Captains ties.
Again assuming that COVID restrictions are no longer in place, we intend to have a formal presentation of prizes as soon as possible after the final group have come in. It would be appreciated if the leading teams could stay for the presentation if possible.
